Couponing

image

I’ve been trying to learn this couponing stuff lately. I figure, it would be good to get a handle on it now while I have a cushion for food money, then, when we are out of school, I’ll know how to do it well and save a lot of money!

My husband’s cousin has shown me to a website that makes couponing very easy! www.couponsense.com. There is a subscription, but WOW! It is SOO worth it! $4 trial for the first month, and about $10 after that. You’ll totally save that and more /month. Let me know if you are interested, I’ll give you my referral number!

This purchase was about a month ago, so I’ll try to remember everything..

Colgate Toothpastes = FREE, Skintimate Shave Gels = $0.44ea. Disposable Razors = MADE $2, BAN Deodorant =something like $0.60, 2 Revlon tweezers = FREE, Toothbrushes = FREE, …So, in the end I think I paid about $4 for all this!

Some tips I have learned:

Multiple Sunday paper subscriptions = multiple coupons, Also, if you are not subscribed to the paper, you can check out the “YES” (Your Essential Shopper), it’s only offered in some zip codes though, and it’s FREE. It contains all the store ads an coupons, that’s it, but it’s FREE, and you can only get it if you are not subscribed to the paper.

Be Organized!  - This is how I organize my coupons, as per how coupon$ense system is set up.

Find stores that will double or even triple coupons!

Print off and have the Store Coupon Policy’s w/you when you go! Not all the checkout people know the policy fully.

Walgreen’s and CVS are tricky! But the offer ECB’s (Extra Care Bucks) and RR’s (Register Rewards) back which is nice..money I can turn around and use in store! They also stack coupons! (meaning you can use a store coupon and a manufacturer coupon on the same product. More coupons are in store. This tag is one CVS has. When you use a reusable shopping bag, they scan it every time I make a purchase. Every 4th purchase, I get $1 in ECB’s back.

I’ll give more tips as I remember, figure them out!

Happy Couponing!

Some coupon blogs I like:

www.thekrazycouponlady.com

Do you know of any other websites? What do you use, and what other tips do you have?!!

P.S. ~ Have you seen the new “Extreme Couponing” show on TLC? What are your thoughts? I’ve only seen a couple episodes, as we don’t have cable. I  enjoyed watching it, and think it’s a gift but I think some of them are a little nuts. ..hoarders I mean. I don’t want to get that crazy. I think couponing is a very good, and sometimes essential thing, but within limits!

Oh Ashlee! This is so fun! May I send my RS sisters to this post? Wait - will it work the same in England I wonder?? Well, my American moms will love it and I KNOW they have some great finds along this line themselves.
