Diaper Cake

I helped with the Baby Shower of 2 of my friends last week. They are both having little girls!! Here were my gifts!

One’s nursery is Purple and White to celebrate K-State.

The other nursery is Black, White and Yellow!

I wrapped each diaper individually and tied it, then tied them together in groups. 6 for the top, then 6 for the bottom..set up some more diapers and tied another 12 around the 6 for the bottom. Had a few left over that I just shoved in anywhere I could, which helped make it a little tighter! The “lollipops” are a washcloth rolled and tied, then I put the spoon on the back and wrapped some saran wrap over it and tied it. I also added a travel size baby powder, travel formulas for emergency, and a little rattle toy. In the past I’ve also included q-tips, nose bulb, clippers, thermometer, butt paste (which I personally prefer over desitin)..more little necessary stuff. But the price can add up quick! It was nice to make two, that way I could share cost between! I also always like to include a little goodie for the mom. After all.. she DESERVES it for all her hard work!! :D

baby bibs (dentist style)

I love using a wash rag as a bib..instead of bibs. It's cheaper and I can use the rag to wipe everything up when I'm done feeding! I found these clips at Wal-Mart in the office section. They are used for badges. I wanted something a little different but didn't know where to look. So I pulled off the plastic piece with the button and fed the ribbon through. And there ya have it. The wash rags I got were also from Wal-Mart..a pack of 9or12..i can't remember for $3 and they are soft enough for me to use on her face. I gave these as part of a gift for a baby shower last week.Same idea..same clips..ribbon hooks to binky insted of another clip! I love Fabri tac glue..it's my new "hot glue" w/o being hot, so I don't have to worry about my son getting burnt if I have to leave and come back to it, and you can get it just about anywhere! lol..she's not a 'binky baby' actually, never would take one..so she was pretty curious about it!Or, you can leave the plastic piece on and have an easy way to hook it to your bag or anywhere you won't lose it.

Hair Bows

I made some hair bows a few months ago, but here are some more I've been making! They are super easy, and super cute! I am TOTALLY in to this little girl thing! Can you tell?!!

Onesie Made Dress

No pattern, just did it. It is still a onesie, I didn't cut it off, although you can and it may be a little easier to sew!.
The little posie is actually a hair clip to go on a head band!

Boppy Cover

I can't believe how expensive Boppy covers are..so I made one..winging it (no pattern). I made it with a fold over so the Boppy itself is unexposed because I didn't have a zipper lying around that was long enough. I think it turned out pretty well! I only had baby boy ones and wanted a little girl one and had some leftover fabric!

I am having a lot of contractions and beginning to dialate..so it won't be long now, and oh how I am sooo ready!

Baby Crib Bedding - Check

Okay! So, I FINALLY finished the bedding for the crib. I spent all day. Now I have to make the mobile and I'll be finished with that project! Don't look too close..it's no where near perfect, but I am pleased for my first attempt, and without a pattern. I like the colors too! Hooray!! My son has decided the underneath is his new tent.

Taggie Blanket for Baby

Soo soft and cuddly. When baby is big enough I can attach toys and such too!

Burp Cloths

I sewed some fabric onto some pre-folded cloth diapers. They make cute burp cloths and match my baby slings I made previously. I will have to make some little boy ones though!

The fabric was cut to 6" x 20 " and I just folded under the sides as I sewed. Easy and quick!

Baby Sling Factory

Because I have so many friends and family having babies (most of them boys), I spent all afternoon whipping these baby slings! Now they are done and ready! They are so quick and easy to make. I need to make a couple nursing covers to match..but that will have to be a project for another day though.
I was thinking I will probably also make some burp cloths or some booties or something with the remnants just for fun. I love these fabrics and the flannel has been perfect for these projects.

Baby Sling and Nursing Cover

Here are a couple things I made today! You can find the sling instructions here: MyKarmaBaby and I kinda' came up with the nursing cover on my own. I'll be making a few more as my sister and a bunch of my friends are all expecting, but this one is for me!! I'll post a how-to for the nursing cover when I get to it! I made them out of flannel that I got from Jo-Anns.. it is 50% off this week, so I got it for about $3/yard. I was excited!!

I was actually surprised my son fit in it, because it is made for an infant. I don't know what gender baby I am having yet, so I found this fun fabric that can be good for either and fits my personality too! They are both lined with the green fabric that you see in the strap of the nursing cover.

Baby Booties

~We had the Get R' Done Enrichment Group at my home tonight. We had fun chatting and eating cookies while we were trying to figure out how to enlarge this patter to fit a 10 - 18ish month baby. We're sad if you didn't make it, but if you still want to make the shoes, click here: Stardust Shoes to get the pattern. This is for 0-3 months. If you need to enlarge it, ask me for tips! Have fun!
~Our next Get R' Done Group will meet Thur. Oct 2nd at my home. There will not be a planned craft. Bring your own unfinished craft, or one you want to start and lets Get it done! RSVP here or to my e-mail if you will be able to make it! Also please leave any ideas for crafts we can do in the future..something you want to learn or make. Hope to see you then!

Diaper Cake

This is the diaper cake I made for the Baby Shower I had today for Stephanie! Also a onesie, shoes, and burp cloths-I was up late, but it was fun to make!

Still Crafting!

Maybe I'll have twins some day!

Baby Onesie

So, I've been googling a bunch of craft projects. The shoes and this onesie are a couple among others I am making. I am having fun and putting the ol' sewing machine to good use after too long. This onesie literally took about 5 min.! Just a couple other colors and Gideon will be set for church! Hmm...I should create a separate blog just for the crafts I am making!!..I'm just having fun blogging..hmm..what else can I blog about?
